Week 13: Visualizing The Concept

1st of December, 2021
What did I do this week?
Last class, I had a chance to have check-in 3 with my classmates to talk about some of the focus areas of my idea. After reviewing the overall rate on concept testing, I decided to talk about the sense of fear with my group.

One of my teammates gave me an interesting feedback for me to think about, which was understanding which area of safety I want to focus on. He asked me...
“What are you trying to solve?
Are you providing actual safety? Or the sense of safety to eliminate the sense of fear?”
He made a good point here. Depending on if I am aiming to give a sense of secure feeling or the sense of safety by providing the solution, my idea could differ. Within this, I had a chance to think further and decide that I am narrowing down into providing a solution by helping people walk in the safest street possible and avoid the dangerous areas.
As I defined and narrowed down my goal to provide the safest route through review system (Storyboard 1 & 2), I have moved onto doing a low-fidelity wireframes.

I started off doing a really rough sketch for the pages that show the main idea of my possible solution. This stage is a brainstorming session of trying to evolve the idea visually.

I had made low-fidelity wireframes for the main pages that I sketched. As I was moving onto this stage, I thought further about the function of the application and wondered where the best location would be for the features. I used Adobe XD for this session.

The first row is a rough wireframe of people searching for specific streets and the second row is the one where people input their destination to get a safest route.
During the stage until now, I learnt that as I am thinking of an idea to validate my problem statement, I really need to think about a reason why people would choose to use my solution. I think validating the problem and thinking of leverage to use and stay in my product could come from a different reason. From this stage, as I am developing and finalizing my ideas, I need to think more about user behaviour in order to create a route to make the user want to stay in the product and find both short-term and long-term usage from them.
