Week 3: Narrowing Down
15th of September, 2021
What did you do this week? What are you learning? Anything you are struggling with?
During the class last week, I have been asking my classmates about my 4 possible topics and their opinions about them. I wanted to use the most out of my class time to get the feedbacks from others, and I talked with 4 classmates to hear the ideas that I might have not been aware of.
- Tip CultureInterestingly, no one was attracted to this topic.
- Entering in the UI / UX Design fieldFew people were attracted to this topic and as we all had the experience of trying to understand UI / UX design and get absorbed in the new information, they found this topic interested and might be helpful for future designers.
- Safer StreetsMost of the students were attracted to this topic and they all felt relatable to the topic. They saw the need to talk about this topic for the streets and the people.
- Travelling with ConfidenceFew people were attracted to this topic and think that there is an opportunity for me to explore within our current mobile technologies.
After discussing my 4 possible topics with them and considering the possible limited resources due to the COVID-19, I have decided to move forward with the topic, Safer Streets. I am very related to this topic and emotionally attached with the anxiety and fear I feel whenever I have to walk by myself out in the streets.
