Users could easily donate to a chosen organization from their song page after viewing the related organizations.
Users could learn more about other organizations and how much people are being involved in the donation, but also the positive influences that they can make from their actions.
Previous to sketching my ideas, I have used sticky notes through Mural to quickly brainstorm some ideas that I could implement in the application. By doing this, I would be able to focus on the main ideas to show them through the sketches and wireframes for my next steps.
In order for me to decide the main topic for this project, I did a quick brainstorming session on Mural by using sticky notes. I have also received some feedback on my several ideas of topics with possible solutions. In the end, I have decided to work on the social issue of Climate Change through Apple Music by considering the possible emotional triggered motivation.
A long-term change in the average weather patterns is driven by human activities that induce the emission of heat-trapping greenhouse gases. These greenhouse gases raise the average surface temperature of the Earth and this is also known as global warming.

Defining my target user is one of the important steps to take in order to build a solution. Creating a persona allows me to interpret and pinpoint the opportunities and pain points based on their needs.

By considering the simple and sleek aesthetics of Apple Music, I want my features to seem reliable and approachable. In order for people to take action and donate, feeling dependable is a crucial impression to give and how much the company cares about their individual actions.
Within our first version of wireframe screens, we had a chance to get some feedback from my classmates. We showed concept maps to explain some of the findings to give some ideas of what we are focusing on while looking at the screens.
As my first step, I started ideating by sketching. I have tried to maintain the main features and components that Apple Music contains and think of a route to create a way to add a new feature that talks about the topic of Climate Change.
Based on my sketches, I have transferred them to the digital version by adding more details.
From the first testing, I have received some feedback on the possible confusion through my wireframes. I have taken these pieces of advice in mind when creating my second version of wireframes.
Within the feedback based on the first testing, I have moved further with my second version of the wireframes.
Based on my iterations, I have received more helpful feedback during my second testing. This time the feedback was more focused on the unifying icons to create consistency, but also, showing examples of interactions which are my next steps.
From this design challenge project, I wanted to incorporate the social issue of Climate Change into the existing application, Apple Music, with a feature that people can easily take an action to. This project enabled me to learn to think based on the user’s behaviour and motivation during their experience in the application.
Having the ability to understand the points of motivation was an important part of the thinking process during this project. By using music as a method to create an emotional triggered motivation, I was able to think about the connection between users’ emotional ranges and their actions that are influenced psychologically. Using the human senses of hearing enabled me to learn how they could be an influential tool of motivation, but also, how much it is important for designers to lead a clear trigger and route to help the users make the right and impactful choices for our society.
If I were given more time, I would love to do several interviews with people who choose to donate and who choose not to donate. I also want to do more research on how music could influence users’ emotions and actions. This step would help me define when the actions are being made by users, which would enable me to strengthen and develop stronger opportunities for motivation.
